Allegheny Valley Church Of God

Here are a few of the ministries we support as a congregation.

Westmoreland County Prison Chaplaincy

We support "Carpenter's Builders," the Ministry of WCP Chaplain Jim Badamo, a frequent guest speaker at our church.  Jim has been the chaplain at the facility for over ten years now and has a vision to see the men and women there be able to come out and start a new life through faith in Christ.

Peniel Drug And Alcohol Rehab, Johnstown, Pa.

Since 1980 Peniel has helped hundreds of individuals break free from the bonds of addiction through faith in Jesus Christ. Dr. Marion Spellman and her husband Bishop Harold Spellman have been faithful to serving those who have no other hope but Jesus Christ. From humble beginnings they now occupy a state-of-the-art facility in Johnstown, Pa.  Here is their website.

Teen Challenge of Western Pa.

Teen Challenge was founded by the late David Wilkerson and has been ministering to those bound in addiction for decades. Occupying an old military facility from the Nike missile era, this center is located just over the river and through the woods from our church. Our men go there once a month to conduct the Saturday morning chapel services. Here is their website.

The Smoky Mountain Children's Home

Sevierville, Tenn.

The Smoky Mountain Children’s Home, a ministry of the Church of God, was founded in 1920 and today provides care for at risk children and teens through its Residential Care and Foster Care programs. Through family counseling, individual therapy, educational opportunities and structured group living the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home provides a continuum of care tailored for each residents need.  Here is their website.
